On CNN today there was an article about a girl named Olivia, a girl who managed to inspire an I hate Olivia MySpace group. Also see the Bullyblog on this particular bullying story. Although a particular search on google for myspace pages only yielded 36 results, so it remains to be seen if this is really a new meme. She had a siezure in front of her class, and the class made fun of her. I can’t imagine where the teacher was. Kids are really cruel sometimes

She will be in the good company of others with hate pages like Zachary Allan Starkey.

Nothing shows up with a Google trends search or on memepool.

completely different, Web Gallery of Art . Here’s a few interesting works, by Bosch and Altodorfer, -use the search feature to find works- look on page 3 for the The Battle of Alexander 1529. I saw this in Person in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich a few years ago. It was pretty amazing to see the level of detail painted into the battle scene.

Exhibit: In the American West: Photographs by Richard Avedon
Columbus Museum of Art
480 E. Broad St., Columbus

Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Thursday until 8:30 p.m.
Contact Phone: 614-221-4848, 614-221-6801
Admission: Adults $6. Seniors and students $4. Children under 6 free. Free admission on Sunday.

In these boldly scaled portraits of truckers, oil workers and drifters, Richard Avedon created a compelling record of the fiber – hard, caring, frayed and resilient – of common American characters. Assertive, controversial and graphically striking, the portraits in the exhibition generated extensive and at times heated discussion about the nature of portraiture, photography and the true identity of the American West. Avedon’s oversize portraits of working class Westerners have become icons in photographic history and the project still stands as a definitive expression of the power of photographic art.
